About the Project
The Brawl Stars Tracker tracks the trophy progress of multiple players in the mobile game Brawl Stars. I created this because I was involved in a trophy-gaining competition with a group of friends, and we wanted a way to track our progress and standings without needing to pull out a calculator or use a spreadsheet every time.
I wrote this program in Python because there was a package available that made it easy to fetch data from the Brawl Stars API. I took advantage of my experience with Pandas DataFrames to store data and the Seaborn plotting library to make nice-looking charts. The end result was a program that generated a trophy progress chart whenever we wanted one.
One challenge I faced was that the API key from the Brawl Stars API could only whitelist specific IP addresses. This made it very difficult to share my program in the cloud (on Google Colab) because I found the IP address to be constantly changing.
In the future, I hope to refactor my program so that it's easier for other people to use. I also hope to add graphs that depict trophy progress over a long period of time (similar to the charts that track stock prices).
